@KenTrowbridge3 @BathBytes @premrugby At least with them involved there was some semblance of the old knockout competition that was a highlight of the season before the league dominance took over. Even the Anglo Welsh variation was better than the current iteration.

@BathBytes @premrugby For me the interest waned when the Champ clubs weren’t invited to participate.
With a 10 team league, playing some teams 4 times just doesn’t create enough interest, particularly when some clubs don’t see it as a development comp.
Let the Champ clubs in and dev their game!

The @premrugby Cup really is a mess. It's become a farce with no set formula and no understanding of what it is. It's there to make money for the clubs but as a competition, it's lost its way, fans won't watch and the media have no interest. Time to set out a proper blueprint

Wonderful match. Scotland never deserved to lose by 20 points, they were tough as old boots …but Ireland were tremendous. So too Luke Pearce in the middle. Will the later games be played at that pace?

Had a couple of goes at it and still gets low entry level! 4 weeks is a farce. Once again the powers that be let the game down and will once again the game is made to look completely amateur

Oscar Jégou banned for four weeks for "reckless contact with the eye(s)" v Scotland. Independent disciplinary panel found his "conduct warranted a red card." Low-end entry point of 6 weeks, partly because "no injury caused to the victim." 2 weeks for good conduct and record.
