I've been looking into this subject pretty deeply. I think all of this could have been avoided if your team didn't spread such a wide net. Follow two rules: 1) If an artist has a pay range, pay it. Do not DM them if you can't afford them in attempts to haggle 40%-60% cuts. Don't come in attempting to undercut their worth. 2) If an artist is new and doesn't know what to charge, be prepared to offer the Market Rate. Offering anything below the Market Rate is, in my opinion, taking advantage of newer artist. It's that simple. Yes, it means you'll have less commissions. But ensuring each artist gets paid what they're worth is how you properly support the art community.

If I said it bothers me that the ppl primarily complaining about art and fursuit prices in the fandom are men and furry art/ fursuit making are women-dominated fields and it’s a microcosm of how undervalued womens work/ art is in society would I be crazy

@sodayeena @rainingcoyotes Like it’s so upsetting that women can be such pillars in a furry community that won’t even put them as BACKGROUND characters in a game if it takes the place of a beefy guy or a femboy fox. Even as like, just a companion. It bums me out

@sodayeena @rainingcoyotes I went to a furry book publisher & asked- 0 yuri. Hundreds of gay books, not a single single sapphic one. I’ve talked to furry game designers who have 0 women present in their games. Not even as background characters because “why would a woman be there?” 🙃 🙃🙃

Okay, pardon me for being mad, but the fucking audacity of that guy. Earns $30/hr, lives in SW FL, HAS A FURSUIT, yet thinks $300 for a ref sheet is too expensive? Grand majority of furries I know understand why fursuits & art are a pricey luxury & respect the craft (1)
