I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis in june 2022, it's been a tough battle ever since but am blessed to be alive.
tomorrow i am having a procedure done due to a mass on my pancreas detected last month at an mri, they will biopsy it during this procedure which is an endoscopy/ultrasound.
over 3yrs later, after getting my feeding tube removed, I still get hospitalized 4-6x per year due to this. it's been life changing for us.
i remain positive, and even through it knocked me out of my career and business, I am determined to not let it break my spirit.
i don't say all this looking for sympathy, I don't want it. i will take all the good vibes you have to send though. I do say this to tell you, take care of your body, which includes internally.
send good vibes please.
@simplesamtx@Hybridathlete I know this person too! "I was thrown clear", ummm sure. If you want to exit your car at 60 mph like Superman, more social security for me.
6 years as a firefighter taught me that if you wear your seatbelt, it is very difficult to die in a car crash, even a relatively high speed one.
It also taught me that it is very easy to die if you are not wearing a seatbelt.
I can't tell you how many times I was first on scene to a 50+ mph crash, even head on or rollovers, and the cars were smashed to shit, but everyone in the cars was completely fine, not much more than some scratches or bruises.
In many cases, all occpants were out of the vehicles and walking around before we even got there.
But if anyone wasn't wearing their seatbelt, they were seriously fucked up or dead on arrival.
@simplesamtx Do you mind me asking who you used to replace it and the cost?
Ours is about 12 years old, and I’m thinking it might be best to replace it before it breaks!
Thanks for any info you can share!
Think my well pump went out. Probably going to cost a grand to get a new pump dropped into my well. Thought it was my float switch on my holding tank but that wasn’t it.
Small price to pay considering everyone’s water bill in this area is 200 plus a month. I’ve never lived with a water bill before. I’ve always lived on a well. This would be the second time I’ve had a pump go out in 25 years here.
@KerryHale17 They do come and go fast. We still getting lots of white oak jobs but they usually are just accent pieces here and there. Rarely a full kitchen of white oak now.
@simplesamtx Two years removed from it, and I bet I’ve missed three fads already. The white oak panic had just died out when I was done. Which left me with a truckload of very nice rift & quartered leftovers, fortunately.
@simplesamtx I had one try to give me a punch list (I NEVER got punch lists) that was just damage from other trades. My response was to pound sand, along with photographs of the installation in perfect condition the day I finished.
