@InvertTheWing I think Chelsea only win this with a central threat, the wing play has been sub par but that is only because there hasn’t been anything going through the middle in my opinion
English

Some points on #liverpoolvschelsea:
- Liverpool are effectively cutting off Colwill’s passing lanes, essentially severing the link between Chelsea’s defence and attack
- Liverpool have been good in transition, leading to three penalty shouts in the first half (partly due to Chelsea’s back line looking incredibly uneasy both on the ball and on Liverpool’s counter)
- Gusto is holding Chelsea’s attack back, he offers no end product in the inverted role he’s been in.
- Allow Palmer to drop deeper to be more involved and possibly open up more space for Madueke (Chelsea’s only real threat in the first half)
- Changes Chelsea could make to turn the tide:
- Joao Felix on for Sancho
- Veiga on for Gusto
- Allow Reece to invert with Veiga dropping to the backline, and utilise Felix’s strength in central areas
This game has been a close one, neither team has impressed. Let’s see who comes out for the second half stronger!

@InvertTheWing Liverpool have been really effective in cutting off Colwill’s passing lanes, there is no “link” or cohesion between the defence and attack at the moment
English

Chelsea have been absolutely shocking, both from a tactical perspective and an individual perspective. Yet it is only 1-0, which emphasis that Liverpool haven't been too good either, Chelsea just much worse.
- Chelsea's defense looks shambolic, absolutely no composure or coordination. Sanchez shocking, Colwill shocking, Tosin shocking, Gusto shocking. Absolutely no composure from all of them.
- Chelsea's attack feels consistently too isolated from the midfield. Feel like Palmer is playing too advanced, needs to be given license to drop deeper and facitiliate play.
- Chelsea are falling into Liverpool's press trap and its causing them trying to focus play down the left as opposed to their significantly stronger right. Sancho and Gusto are doing nowhere enough, considering they have had the responsibility facilitating most of the attack.
English

@InvertTheWing Agreed, Chelsea’s attack isn’t dynamic enough this game and it’s isolating Palmer. Liverpool aren’t looking too good, if Chelsea get it right in the second half, it’s theirs for the taking..
English

1. Veiga for Gusto. Let him drop into that Back 3. Let Reece James overlap/invert - will heavily, heavily bolster Chelsea's attack.
2. Neto for Sancho. Honestly, this is a game that Mudryk would suit perfectly, baffling to leave him out. But Neto's dynamism is needed in this game, and will stretch the pitch a lot more.
3. Nkunku for Jackson.
English

@InvertTheWing If Joao Felix comes on along with Renato Veiga, Chelsea will have more attacking threat AND physicality through central areas.
English

@InvertTheWing That is a ridiculous finish he’s genuinely the best footballer on the planet
English

Nope. I am speechless. I am completely speechless.
4 goals in 40 minutes. That is his 2nd game with 4 goals in the league.
I have never seen anything like this. Not even the greatest goalscorer the league has ever seen has done that (Erling Haaland).
This is ridiculous. Ridiculous. Oh. My. God.
English

@UTDTrey He is literally the best player in the league I haven’t seen anything like this before
English

@OptusSport Generational talent but no one else will say it 🤷
