@BuyoyaJonah That's such a pity! Dino Balotelli is a great guy. He used to be at the Namibia Investment and Promotion Board before he ventured into politics. Proud Namibian.

Heated moment in Namibia’s parliament as MP Vetaruhe Kandorozu tells a white parliamentarian and Deputy Minister Dino Balloti to “Go back to Italy”, further charging that “Namibians do not look like this”. He later withdrew the statement, before doubling down on the statement.

How is African oil supply likely to be affected by the U.S/Israel war in Iran? Here’s a piece we did for BBC Focus on Africa.

A great way to hate your child is to put them in a majority black public school. More crime, drugs, fights, and theft. All national statistics.

@Telfer_K_N @kasubasikamo_ Yes. Unfortunately, it happens and they bear the risk for making a poor decision if things go wrong. We live in a low trust culture - something entrepreneurs have to consider when designing products

@kasubasikamo_ Service Stations worse. I hand one a Tomcard and they first check the balance. Do you think I would roll up here with no credit and get surprised?

“Could I please have a sausage?” “It’s K35” Did I ask for a sausage or the price??? Why do we do this? Maybe I looked like I couldn’t afford?

@ssishuwa Worth a listen with balanced responses. Much to be said about the interviewer's failure to realise that an even richer conversation could have been had if he also took a balanced approach to questioning ill governance regardless of party.

When I interviewed him, former president Edgar Lungu named three individuals he was courting and considering to back in Zambia’s 2026 election. None of them are in politics. I discuss this subject and how Hichilema can comfortably win re-election in this interview with KBN TV.

I feel conned every single time I listen to Set Adrift on Memory Bliss by PM Dawn on Spotify. The re-record just doesn't sound the same without Prince Be and Eternal.

@BuyoyaJonah How is replacing MPs without elections dangerous? South African parties routinely recall MPs and replace them without a problem!!

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has called on the government to withdraw Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025, citing lack of public consultation and potential erosion of democracy. LAZ says the bill sidelines citizens, undermines accountability, and includes dangerous provisions, such as allowing political parties to replace MPs without elections. President Lungisani Zulu says constitutional reforms must be people-driven, with broad-based consensus and transparency.

AI is not going to take your jobs. Every time a new tool comes out we run for the hills and think our jobs are over. It cannot (yet) create words in the manner you think it can. - @simunza Muyangana @BongoHive

@ChilumbaKBwalya @idlidosa2 @BongoHive @kombalume This is why I like short form writing. It is the closest to prototyping. If done often enough it could give an author a sense of what people want to read. Something like how comedians have to bomb a number of times before they know what sticks. It is a business after all

@ChilumbaKBwalya @idlidosa2 @BongoHive @kombalume Connecting with the writing community was inspiring but I left wondering whether or not we have the makings of an industry. I think our writers publish for passion. I don't get the sense that they have found out who their customers are and how to consistently deliver to them.
