@harshmadhusudan Facts and figures paint a very different picture, so far trend has been going only one way the past 59 years... RBI has to dole out FCNR deposits with currency hedge to stop it going past 100. Though I wish what you said happens, am not very sure about it happening.

30y yields today U.S.A 5.2% China 2.2% India 7.4% Over the next 10 years or so, I expect the India-US spread to go away, maybe even invert. China long end yields may not fall much more. CNY and INR to sharply appreciate against USD. Rupee appreciation being more unexpected. Indian real growth will continue to surprise on the upside and inflation will be anchored. The implications for Indian cash flow and especially risk assets are obvious given ROE will be healthy and dilution minimal. The dollar and US Tech more broadly are too extended cyclically. The reversal has started but it has been limited and hesitant. It will remain non-linear. I also expect genuine EMs more broadly to surprise on the upside over the coming decade. The biggest story by far will be India in terms of delta and growth and surprise. In terms of mass, it will be China this cycle.

@singhalamit4 @Sootradhar @grok First amendment applies to citizens. The specific case on which you seem to be adamantly clutching your belief that the US is not as great as it actually is surely has nuance. Still let me ask grok.

@Rationalop9 @Sootradhar I see it every day, as I work in the political office of an international organisation. The bottom-line is: free speech right is not absolute despite what people tell you.

@singhalamit4 @Sootradhar I didn't mean to say you were broadly uneducated only uninformed on this issue. It's not a ego thing. Btw, these laws absolutely are in full effect. There are dedicated first amendment attorneys. I hope you see what a constitutionally beautiful nation you resided in 😊

@Sootradhar The bigger issue is that the constitution gives powers to the government and police to literally police speech. This doesn't happen in free societies like US and France.

Was venting to someone who is a Guru to me over the roach protest and the disgusting language and gestures used against the PM. He asked me, ‘if YOU feel this angry about the attacks on @narendramodi, have you ever wondered how he feels after having dedicated his life to serving the nation?’ Helped me become calmer.

@SharmaJuhi_ @FT How will you do that? And who would you want to elect? Great grandson, grandson, son of a discredited dynasty, or progeny of convicted Laloo, or Akhilesh whose dozen family members are legislatures, or Kejari who cannot manage Punjab? What's your stand on terror attacks?

Long accustomed to getting his own way, Modi had to swallow the spectacle of two of his ministers as envoys from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which led the protests, announced to waiting media that the government had agreed to meet all their demands. ft.trib.al/nXcCBYc

@SwarajyaMag @TheJaggi People don't want to pay taxes or fines for traffic violations, but demand top class infrastructure, they want stable petrol supply and prices despite Gulf war, want no corruption but will vote convicted Laloo's party, want no nepotism but vote Sonia-Akhilesh. shallow analysis.

As the education minister resigns and the Jantar Mantar protests end, @TheJaggi argues that this has only bought the Modi government weeks, not months. The harder test is still coming. His central point is that the protest was never really about the NEET exam leak. It was a demand for better governance from every arm of the state, and it came from Gen Z, a generation whose only real complaint is that the people in power do not listen to them. And that anger will not stay contained to one exam. There is already an E20 Janta Party forming, made up of vehicle owners upset about ethanol-blended petrol. Farmers and other groups could be next. The common thread in these names is Janta, and the piece notes the political target that points to. The warning is that this hits everyone, not just the Prime Minister's cabinet. State governments, municipalities, the bureaucracy, the courts, none of them delivers good citizen services, and all of them are now exposed. If a leaked exam can trigger this, so can garbage, traffic and broken hospitals. The piece's advice to the government is a list of things to do now, before the next flashpoint. Most of it comes down to one shift — stop governing purely from the top, and start actually consulting the people it governs. Whether Modi manages that, the piece argues, will decide whether he sweeps the 2029 election or gets swept by it. R Jagannathan in @SwarajyaMag on why the government is now on probation, and what it should do about it. swarajyamag.com/politics/on-pr…

Forget international media or the propaganda machines of @instagram , even if you follow national media, you would think that @narendramodi govt has been toppled, that EVERY person in India the age group of 14-25 was at Jantar Mantar protesting, when the fact remains, most youngsters are busy attending college, working, preparing for careers. Unfortunately, no one in the govt seems to be doing anything about the role national media is playing in the cockroach protest. It is like they are not even aware!

@gitasholka @Indian_Analyzer There are multiple calls that take place in a fixed time frame. Normally, PA will announce, but sometimes PM may not be able to pick up the name. I was once connected to PM Gujral, when I wanted to speak with his PS, Vikram Misri.

@gitasholka @Indian_Analyzer At the direction of PM Modi, his office called Skyroot. When the call was established, PM's PA put Skyroot on hold while transferring the call to PM Modi. The caller tune you heard was the tune when the call was being transferred. Nothing scripted about it.
