Flexing a nominal R30.23 minimum wage while ignoring the absolute slaughterhouse of South African living costs is peak timeline delusion. Congratulations on a higher paper currency floor, but your average worker spends almost half that wage just trying to survive minibus taxi fares, high utility bills, and private security costs. Ghana's economy is designed for broad food security and heavily subsidized informal markets, our cash purchases more volume per unit. Nominal figures don't mean a thing if the real value gets eaten up by inflation and municipal decay before it hits your bank account!
Nomfundo. N. Motha@NomfundoNMotha

@KSnetne @thankyousiiire @ajeezayGH My guy you keep projecting thing that happen in Ghana on us. South Africa has a formal labor sector with labor laws and a minimum wage. Your minimum wage isGH¢21.77 per day. Ours is R30 per ordinary hours worked. Average worker works 45 hours a week in South Africa.

@Angelfm1029 Ghana wants a legal law abiding person to be removed while Ghana is fighting South Africa for asking illegal immigrants to be repatriated. Is there greater madness?

@dr_bandak South Africans are for real African unity. They do not want Ghana and Nigeria fighting about anything. South Africa wants both countries to tribe so that real people's problems can be sorted out in West Africa.

Gold Coast (Ghaha 🇬🇭) wow… who is that man….. I must admit that 'accent' sounded a little more like the current Nigerian accent… But yes, highly intellectual. Really don't know what the Black South Africans feel when they watch videos like this…and think Ghana/ Nigeria are their enemies…

People aren’t just "jumping borders" for fun, they are following regional trade routes that have existed for generations. Migrants aren't sucking resources out; they are actively building micro-economies, paying local rents, and filling labor gaps that keep supply chains moving. More importantly, they use that energy to build both nations, generating local revenue in SA while sending capital back home to fund development. Migration is an economic engine, not a zero-sum game!
SmoothTalker@elonjohnson1639

People jumping borders of so many countries to come to south Africa must use that energy to build their own countries

Africa won’t have one president because every president wants to BE the president. Africa won’t have one currency because every minister wants to control the printing press. Africa won’t have no borders because every leader needs a gate to collect bribes at. Africa won't have one President because of wars between rebels groups and the governments,Africa won't have one President because of terrorism in some countries, look what is happening in Sudan ,look what is happening in Nigeria, look what is happening in Congo and other central African countries,The problem isn’t the idea. The problem is the people in power. Until selfishness dies, unity won’t live.

@KSnetne South Africa is asking other African countries to care about their people. Is it so difficult? Trying to solve South African departments is not a solution. Flooding of South Africa and overwhelming communities is the problem. We should aim for along term real solution.

Trying to rewrite the liberation struggle as "just giving money to the Mandela family" is an absolute insult to continental history. 😂 Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, and Tanzania sacrificed their own national treasuries, placed heavy economic sanctions on themselves, and housed liberation fighters to help strip down white minority rule. To twist that shared history to excuse modern xenophobic vigilantism is pure delusion. No country is asking South Africa to accommodate criminals, they are asking you to run an actual, professional Department of Home Affairs and police force instead of using street violence as policy!

It could have been nearly 1.5 billion Africans supporting Bafana Bafana, not just 62 million South Africans. Unfortunately, South Africa’s strained relationship with many people across the continent has cost them the goodwill and support of a large section of Africa. Rather than having the backing of almost 1.5 billion Africans, South Africa often finds itself at odds with the other 1.438 billion people across the continent.

Dear Fellow South African,   In just under two weeks’ time, Bafana Bafana will participate in the opening match in this year’s FIFA World Cup against Mexico.   They carry with them the best wishes of more than 62 million South Africans who will be cheering them on at every stage of the tournament. Bafana Bafana are taking part in the World Cup for the first time since we hosted the event in 2010. 🔗 tinyurl.com/4bb9jay4

It is wild to talk about "slave jobs" when South Africa's youth unemployment rate sits stubbornly above 40%, leaving millions of local graduates trapped in a broken economic loop. 😂 West Africans migrate across the globe, from the Gulf to Europe, running massive tech startups, filling elite medical systems, and sending billions back home in remittances. Deflecting your own domestic stagnation by mocking a global human crisis won't create a single job in your township.

@ajeezayGH Please share your research. The number of African investors is small. CEOs from African countries are there but constitute a very small number. Researchers are also few. We have a lot of people who are unemployed substituting local labour for a meagre of what should be paid.

One uncomfortable conversation Black South Africans 🇿🇦 keep avoiding: Many of the Africans who move to South Africa 🇿🇦 arrive with a trade, profession, business, or specialized skill. Yet some of the loudest anti-migrant voices act as if every foreign African is a burden on the economy. If migrants were contributing nothing, why are they competing with them in the first place?” 🤔🇿🇦🌍

@theMaKafui @townxipclownza You will be surprised that a significant percentage of South Africans support this vision. A functioning Ghana is good for Ghana and South Africa. Ghana is free to decide it's future but must also take responsibility for it and not dump problems in South Africa. No subsidy.

@siphonekj @townxipclownza You lack economic understanding! Read on FDI and its importance to countries and how foreign companies benefit their mother nations. If the take away the least today, it can be handed over to a local with the capacity and all revenue stays in Ghana while SA loses that revenue.

Many Ghanaians come across as emotional, arrogant, and quick to insult. It’s hard to listen to their points because every argument starts or ends with insults. This is a country that still has over a million Ghanaian citizens living in South Africa. When South Africans say “go home and fix your country if you’re not contributing here,” Ghanaians call it xenophobia and refuse to hear the message. The truth is, the 300 people who left were mostly illegal. No country allows undocumented migrants to roam around undetected. It’s a pity I haven’t seen a serious interview from their side. And the same Ghanaians crying about xenophobia have been telling Nigerians to “go back home” since January this year. If South Africans are xenophobic, the whole continent is xenophobic.Zimbabweans must move to Zimbabwe and see what you people will say.

The Government of Ghana is reportedly planning to sponsor about 800 members of the official Supporters’ Union for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, instead of flying thousands of fans from Ghana, authorities will focus on purchasing match tickets for Ghanaians already living in the United States, Canada and Mexico, where the tournament will be held. With travel costs estimated at nearly $11,000 per fan, the strategy is aimed at reducing costs while maximizing support for the Black Stars.
