@tanpukunokami Before covid, I used to think it was really cool how Japan has the mask culture. Now the only thing I think when see masks, is how much they made me suffer because they were fogging up my glasses

A foreigner asked me, “Are Japanese people still wearing masks because they’re scared of viruses?” Honestly? Not really. Of course, some people wear masks for health reasons. But many Japanese people wear them because they didn’t do their makeup. Because they forgot to shave. Because they look tired. Because they don’t feel like talking. Because they just don’t want to show their face today. And every spring, pollen attacks the whole country like it has a personal grudge. So no. Japan’s mask culture is not just about fear. Sometimes it’s health. Sometimes it’s manners. And sometimes it’s just, “Please don’t look at my face today.”

Ubisoft has announced a record €1.3 billion operating loss for its fiscal year ending March 2026. Net bookings dropped 17.4% to €1.53 billion, impacted by underwhelming game launches and development delays. In response, the company implemented cost-cutting measures, including the reduction of about 1,200 jobs and €118 million in fixed costs. Ubisoft predicts an 8-9% decline in sales and a high single-digit loss margin for the 2026-27 fiscal year, but anticipates returning to profit and generating positive cash flow by 2027-28.

@harukaawake Never hate your own people, just find ways to surpass the ancestors where they fell short and be as good as the ancestors at what they did well. The Western culture is suffering from self hate.

🇯🇵 Japanese AV star Ai Uehara visited a museum in Korea recently and said she “might start to hate Japanese people” after learning about WWII history. She’s free to have opinions about the past but hating your own people is pathetic. She should just stick to what she’s good at.

In Japan, a bow has angles. Not because the rule book says so. Because the back of your neck is a unit of respect. 15 degrees for a stranger you pass. 30 degrees for a client at a meeting. 45 degrees for an apology that matters. 90 degrees for grief, or for a wedding. Japan also has roughly 1,300 years of recorded court etiquette manuals, still studied today in business schools and ceremonial training. Not because Japanese people are stiff. Because the body is a sentence that says something the mouth cannot. Think about the last time you watched someone say "sorry" while standing perfectly upright, phone in one hand. Think about whether you believed them. And whether they meant it. Japan built a different vocabulary. Not spoken in words. Not measured in volume. Just expected. Of everyone. Always. 🇯🇵

@Haalandinho10 @sipping_Pyro @_Sosthene_ The problem isn't that he believes his people or his culture are "superior" - it's 1. bizarre that he takes the angle of "women's rights", and 2. you don't get to reply to him "lol you savages practice chattel slavery"

@_Sosthene_ Sadly it looks like some people still prefer to pretend they do not understand in an attempt to waste peoples time explaining things they already know, to them.

@_Sosthene_ not need to engage that dialogue. It was never stated as correct in the game or part of the games narrative, it was ONE GUY who thought that way. So by that standard, if Sauron tells you the Orcs are superior to humans, you'd feel like the game is shoving ideology in?

Did you know? In some Japan's schools, education isn’t just about knowledge — it’s about character. For the first three years of school, children in these specific institutes don’t take academic exams at all. Instead, the focus is on respect, empathy, and moral values. Students learn to clean their classrooms, serve lunch to their peers, and care for their environment. Teachers emphasize teamwork, discipline, and gratitude — qualities considered as vital as academic success.
