Stepped out today to experience “authentic Odia cuisine” at a hyped local restaurant… only to return reassured that authenticity still resides quietly in our own kitchen.

During my Indore trip, I visited the Indore Zoo. Entry was ₹20–30 per person.
Inside, I saw so many families who had probably saved this amount through the week to bring their parents or children out for a simple day of joy.
One moment stayed with me.
A young girl, a bank ID card hanging around her neck.
Her old father stood in front of an ostrich - eyes wide, smiling like a child.
Maybe the first time he had ever seen one.
He excitedly called his daughter, took a selfie with her on his old Nokia feature phone.
No filters.
Just pride, wonder, happiness.
And it made me pause.
For many of us who are “woke,” it’s easy to dismiss zoos - for valid reasons, I’m not denying that.
But for millions who can’t afford expensive safaris or conservation parks… isn’t this the only way nature becomes accessible?
Sometimes privilege decides what we critique. And sometimes, it forgets who access is really for.

Indore food trip  I’ve been wanting to visit Indore for quite some time, but it never worked out. With a long weekend at hand, we finally made a sudden, impromptu plan - no itinerary, no sightseeing checklist. The primary goal was simple: relax and go on an unplanned food crawl. Yes, this was purely a food trip. We’d heard a lot about Indore’s food scene and decided to experience it firsthand. Took a few recommendations from Indore’s super-star @suritalreja - both for food and sightseeing (though we were far too busy eating than visiting places ). in “ମୁଇଁ ଥୁଡେ କହିଥିଲି ” But I have a doubt about the phrase -“ବହୁତ ସାରା ”. When did it creep into the odia language?
