i interpret sans’s stats as being representative of physical disability… and i think it fits his character very well in general. his loss of autonomy and learned helplessness feels very much like the experience of having a degenerative disability to me. anyways here goes

after deltarune, once gaster is well and truly beyond his reach. he would do it both as a way to punish himself and as a way to feel some semblance of connection between himself and gaster. also it’s sexy when the smoke comes out of his eye sockets/nasal cavity :-]

i don’t think about it as often as sans alcoholism but i do really like the idea of sans smoking… especially within the context of (ut)gaster being a smoker. he’d convince sans to do it once or twice and sans would really dislike it at first… and only start smoking regularly-
