@ashtonshudson @lemire Random and nondeterministic aren't the same thing. For a statistician or machine learning researcher, "random" means every bit is equally likely to be every value. Something following another distribution might be called "stochastic".

You can't compress data with a high entropy (maximum surprise).
Randomness != high entropy.
ie: if you sample from distribution where there's more ones than zeros; then you could compress it.

You cannot compress random data. In fact, that is what random means… if you can compress purely random data, then it is not random.

Our kid's music teacher was introducing 7/8 meter, but she was counting it like "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, (breath)" making it actually just 4/4, and my wife was grinning at me as I slowly lost my mind

@MusicOfLee I personally think piano key markers are kinda dumb. It takes like a day to learn all the notes. It’s one octave that repeats, and black keys are just sharp/flat. So there’s literally 7 notes to learn. And they’re in alphabetical order. Haha

@MusicOfLee @enioeyment I mean, what about paying $5 to avoid that hassle? There are lots of things we could do ourselves if we just spent the time and effort. Making something like this is probably an hour's worth of work, all said and done. You're not buying only the object, but the time.

@ManuelaXibanya yeah, not to mention the weird title inflation. It was only in my current job that I learned there is a title called "staff" and it is both higher than "senior" and can be modified. Resulting in my current title of "senior staff engineer"
