You can only improve the events you measure. Coding agents break the lines that fire your PostHog and Mixpanel.

Uber connects humans to humans. Waymo connects humans to machines. Agentic AI connects machines to machines. The largest economic boom in history will happen when humans aren't in the transaction loop at all. What is your role in a B2B economy where the 'B' stands for Bot?

You should have at least $2-3k in the bank that you're willing to burn before you start running ads I say this for your own mental sanity If it's the last cash you have you won't be able to make the correct decisions You'll kill it too early before the actual results come

@zuess05 Usually not one magic growth hack. It’s when distribution, timing, and a product people actually want to tell others about finally line up at the same time.

@Codie_Sanchez If a weekly 1:1 is the first place problems show up, the system is already broken. The meeting should be for context, calibration, and unblockers, not delayed status reporting.

I've come to believe that weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports was a corporate lie told to us by middle managers who needed to look busy. You should be hearing about problems and updates in real time, not waiting for some fake-timed meeting.

@kylejeong Mostly true, but attention without substance just burns faster now. Distribution gets you the shot. The product decides whether anyone comes back, tells anyone else, or cares a week later.

founders who can't capture attention are going to fail your product being 10% better means nothing if nobody sees it. distribution beats engineering. getting your product in front of real users and building something people naturally want to share matters more than your 10th Waterloo hire. the real differentiator in startups is understanding human psychology and how to move people. in a world drowning in AI slop, taste and viral sense are the new moat.

We have been wrong about almost everything while building products. Lucky for both of us, we kept a running list. → "If you build it they will come." They will not come. They have never come. They are not coming. Nobody is coming. → "More features equals more value." More features equals more things nobody uses and more bugs nobody finds because nobody is there. → "Founders know best." Users know best. Founders know second. The market lets you know which one you were. → "PLG means no sales." PLG means the product does the qualifying. Sales still closes. Anyone who told you otherwise was selling you something. → "Just ship fast." Fast in the wrong direction is just failing with a better burn rate. → "Metrics tell the truth." Metrics show patterns. The truth lives in user conversations you are not having because you are looking at dashboards. → "Users will figure it out." They won't. They'll leave in under 60 seconds and you'll spend three months A/B testing button colors wondering why. → "Focus on growth." Retention compounds. Growth without it just refills a bucket with a hole in it. → "Technical problems are the hardest." Technical problems have solutions. Product problems have opinions and everyone on the team has a different one. → "I know what I'm doing." Pending. Has been pending for longer than I am comfortable admitting. Every one of these cost us something real. Some more than once. What are the assumptions that cost you the most while building?

@asaio87 Supabase is already Node/Postgres with a lot of the boring infrastructure handled for you. Most teams won’t outgrow it, they’ll outgrow their own architecture first.
