Charlie Hunter playing "The Root" by D'Angelo - Hunter co-wrote the song with D'Angelo after jamming with him to Jimi Hendrix songs. He played both the bass and guitar parts simultaneously using a custom 8 string bass/guitar combo, with the upper 3 strings being bass and the bottom 5 being guitar.
