@gururajsrao Not with the idli. I ask for it separately. Rather asked. Ate only once. Enough to put me off. Never going again.
English

@skodithala Rameshwaram serves sambaar no ( I haven't gone there but seen videos)
English

@gururajsrao That’s my biggest grouse against places like Rameshwaram Cafe and Taaza. I can’t eat idli/vada without sambar 😭😭
English

@b50 Most old places in Karnataka serve only chutney with idli/ dose/vada.. sambaar is more a tamil nadu accompaniment with these things..most places serving lunch now serve sambaar ..old places may have been breakfast/ tiffin only

In 2007, a mother in Jacksonville, Florida, USA took a photo of her eleven month old son on a beach. He had his tiny fist clenched, his jaw set, and the expression of someone who had just won something important.
He was actually about to eat a fistful of sand.
She uploaded the photo to the internet and forgot about it. Two years later it had become one of the most recognisable images on the entire internet. A baby with a clenched fist and a look of pure determination. Two words underneath it.
Success Kid.
It was used by Barack Obama's presidential team. It appeared on billboards across the United Kingdom. It was licensed to Coca-Cola. Millions of people used it every single day to celebrate small victories.
Nobody knew the boy's name. Nobody knew what was happening at home.
Before Sammy Griner was born his father Justin was diagnosed with kidney disease. By the time Sammy was old enough to understand what was happening, his father was spending four hours a day three days a week on dialysis. Six years of it. Justin's mother had already passed from the same disease. The family needed a transplant and they needed money for the medication that would follow.
His mother was initially reluctant to use her son's famous face to ask for help. She wanted the fundraiser to be about her husband, not a meme. Then she changed her mind.
Within five days three hundred people had donated. Within a few more days the story spread across the internet and the total reached over one hundred thousand dollars.
The call came. A kidney was available. The transplant was a success.
When Sammy was told his father had a new kidney, he burst into tears.
The photo that started as a joke about eating sand had saved his father's life.

Yeah… it sounds like a joke, but it’s actually true 😄
When YouTube was created back in 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim, the original idea wasn’t “let’s build the biggest video platform in the world.”
It was more like: “What if people could upload videos to introduce themselves… like a video dating profile?”
The concept was similar to a dating site where instead of just pictures and text, you’d upload a short video talking about yourself, your interests, what you’re looking for, etc. In fact, early on they even tried to get users (especially women) to post these kinds of videos… but nobody really showed up for that purpose.
So the idea flopped.
But something unexpected happened…
People who did use the platform started uploading random videos, clips, personal moments, funny content, anything. And that’s when the founders realized:
“Wait… the real value isn’t dating… it’s video sharing.”
So they pivoted completely.
Instead of forcing a dating use-case, they opened it up for any kind of video content, and that decision changed the internet forever.
The very first video ever uploaded “Me at the zoo” wasn’t a dating intro at all. It was just a casual clip. And that basically set the tone for what YouTube became.

Bro I just discovered YouTube wasn’t meant for videos… it started as a dating site 💔

When Eisenhower was asked why the United States did not allow the 1956 Vietnamese reunification elections agreed upon at Geneva, he answered with unusual honesty.
He said that if elections were held, Hồ Chí Minh would win with approximately 80 percent of the vote.
So they cancelled the elections.
Think about that every time an American politician talks about "spreading democracy."
They cancelled the democratic election because the "wrong" person would win.
They then spent the next two decades killing people to prevent the government that would have been democratically elected from taking power.
And they called the other side anti-democratic.
This is not ancient history.
This is the logic that still governs every "democracy promotion" operation today.
Democracy is acceptable when it produces the "right" results.
When it does not, you cancel the election, back a coup, fund the opposition, impose sanctions, and call the government that the people actually chose a "dictatorship."
Vietnam exposed this logic completely.
Not with arguments.
With history.
With the receipts.

This is khammam railway station, telangana. I saw the coach displays in English and Hindi, but why not in the state mother tongue in Telugu language? Do you believe everyone in the station knows Hindi and English?
