I think anyone working with eating disorders needs to see part of their role as being an advocate or even campaigner for their patients. Too often we’re met with blame &!closed doors, so having others push for the care we need can unburden us from part of the suffering involved.

When Channel 10 came to my home. Media skills is essential for the clinician. Our core business is education. What is important and what sells in the media may be different. Finding a way to sell what is important to the media is critical. If you can, get some media training.

I'm tired of people saying that the "children didn't see the abuse" or "they were too young to be effected" or "they were asleep." Children are harmed by perpetrators through multiple pathways. The reversal of the @RANZCOeyedoctor decision to exclude trainees on parental leave is welcomed. From a culture point of view though, an event like this should always prompt an organisation to consider how the decision came to be made in the first place. 🤔 #SystemicBias

@LiangRhea @sigred72 I’m delighted to report that the RANZCO President has phoned to advise @amavictoria that the RANZCO decision to exclude trainees on parental leave being able to apply for or sit exams from January 2024 has been reversed. An email notification will go out to trainees next week.
