We have some sad news to share. After much consideration, we've decided to shut down Skyglass. We're grateful for your support and hope you've enjoyed using the app. While we are very proud of the app we've built, and have loved seeing the amazing content you've created, we no longer have the resources to maintain the app and provide the level of service you deserve. The app will stop working and all accounts will be deleted on March 24, 2025. Please make sure to download any content you want to keep before then. If you have an active subscription, Apple will be in touch with information about your refund. We are working to determine whether we can make the app available so that you can continue to use it after the shutdown. We'll keep you updated on our progress. We’ve streamlined some of the most complex parts of 3D visual effects—motion tracking, compositing, and motion capture animation—so they work seamlessly in real time on your iPhone.

As the camera operator, you’re not just behind the lens—you’re part of the scene. While filming, I animated the alien character’s face in real time, interacting with the human actor in a fully immersive dialogue. This level of real-time interaction, especially on mobile, has never been possible before.

We filmed this all without a green screen. You can see your subjects integrated into the 3D scene in real time directly on your iPhone. No guesswork, no relying on text prompts and hundreds of iterations. What you see is truly what you get.

Virtual production democratized. 3D scan any space or place, reconstruct it using 3D Gaussian Splatting (eg Polycam) and use it as an environment you can film in — all using the iPhone in your pocket 🤯
