@gabor Ideal but not table stakes. Especially if it’s a product I might binge-read at night. The switch to an app or site that doesn’t have it is much more jarring now that so many apps do.

Is dark mode table stakes these days? I.e. you shouldn't launch a product without it?

@gabor @gooddegen I think the iterative messiness of early products is something we don’t hear enough about, even if we know it happens. I like hearing about shortcuts you made to start and what you wish you’d done differently. Maybe tag tech🧵s on their own so some can skip?

@gooddegen Yes that's exactly my thought. I'm just worried about boring people with minutiae. Talking about design decisions seems more interesting than DB query languages. E.g. I did a poll about fonts a while ago and that got a ton of reactions.

I've been a little silent so I could figure out the new linking policy. But now it has disappeared. We've been working hard T2. The super minimal feature set we launched with 12 days ago is now stable. Before adding more users I think we need to make some architectural changes:
