BREAKING: MLS and Apple have agreed to alter the partnership agreement at the end of the 2025 season, multiple sources told The Athletic. MLS Season Pass will no longer exist, and all MLS games will be available on the Apple TV streaming service. Via @PaulTenorio

I repeat, NOBODY is going to enjoy getting to Longacres for a game. No public transit options (Sounder doesn’t run that late). 405 is brutal. As annoying as it is to share a stadium, Lumen is the perfect location.

@hawkblogger FYI, the policy to discourage STH sales apparently doesn’t apply to the charter sections where it’s needed the most. I know, since I have seats in CHR109 and was told they have their hands tied due to the Charter license rights.

@danielraffel Yup, I have 3 of them, and they only will allow me to get one discounted new device. I’m probably gonna switch to another brand. My Nest smoke detectors are also about to expire (7 yr sensor), so time for a swap on that front as well.

Luckily, I don’t own one of these older Nest thermostats. Still, I really don’t understand why Google is pulling app support—it feels like a pretty aggressive and anti-consumer move.

@sampullara Yes, permanent PDT is the same as MST. Seems like potentially easier to technically implement, but whatever gets the job done.

@dnak isn’t that the same as DST? i think it is useful to keep time zones.

I hope that everyone who is talking about stopping time change means keeping DST all year long.

So of course I'm a dork and have spent the past 8 hours on this and eliminating summer DST is terrible, would reduce the amount of daylight people get by a lot (~40 minutes/day at the Summer Solstice) given empirical data on sleeping patterns as per the American Time Use Survey.

This is interesting. The plan had previously been to do this on the waterfront, which would have made a very easy walk to the stadium. Curious if those plans are still happening.

unrealized gains aren't real. it is just the last stock trade times the number of outstanding shares or the guesstimate on zillow. if you sell any reasonable number of those shares the price will go down as you flood the market. similarly, net worth isn't real unless it is cold hard cash. the market hasn't discovered the true value of the asset until you sell it.
