@lizboyfanclub this isn’t entirely true, there is a body of scientific work about how screen time influences (in laymen’s terms) “reward centers” in the brain and there’s a reason the same ceos regulate it for their own children. but i still think the alternative is worse

@lizboyfanclub oh i think that’s absolutely true. not sure i see the connection between saying too much screen time is harmful and active support for surveillance but i can totally see how rhetoric around “phones bad” could be leveraged to undermine the importance of internet privacy

@skywsabreadroll I think it's true to some extent but purposefully twisted by media + lobby groups + tech companies to avoid anybody pushing for legislation that would actually help (comprehensive privacy protections + user configurable feeds) and instead pushing for surveillance laws
