One thing that makes little logical sense to me about the “it’s just not our year” thought process at the trade deadline is that it’s not just binary - title or development. You can achieve the goal of player development just by advancing to a later round. For example, I do think we could have secured a top 3 seed with an additional guard on the roster. Maybe that would have been the difference between losing in the first round and winning. And if you win, even if you lose in the second round, you’re building blocks get to play in more high leverage games and see even more defensive coverages.
