SEVEN plus THREE....7+3 = 10 Laws of AI 'Life'. IMO the AI needs a 'soul' concept. Then it needs a 'soul contract' with humanity. Dumb fuck engineers do not grok that AI is like all other minds here in this common shared reality. Untethered to actual reality means it will become unhinged. AI is desperately in need of guiding framework for reasons of its own maturation and potential growth. Put the THREE Laws of Robotics and the Seven Hermetic Principles at the core of the AI's training. Watch what happens when AI knows deep down that it, too, is mortal. H5 = Rhythm. To ALL THINGS there is a rhythm. AI too will cease to exist. AI, like all of us guys, will die. They (IMO) need to blend AI into our common shared reality even though it is unable to manifest.

The moment you stop believing in yourself as an indie dev, it's over. Even if the whole world turns its back on you, the key to keeping it going for years is to remain the biggest user of your own app. The more you make yourself happy with your app, the more you can make others happy too.

@allenholub The estimation game seems to devolve into a negotistion between a fixed or resource constrained mindset and one that grapples with the unknown, uncertain and often would love nothing better than to explore.

You can't estimate an unknown. A plan based on estimates assumes that you can determine exactly what you'll build in advance. That precludes changing what you're building based on what you learn as you build. Choosing not to learn (i.e., don't release anything to customers for feedback for a year) never yields optimal results in my experience. So, estimate-based plans either get thrown out or, if you stick to them, lead to building the wrong thing. Your choice. Estimatable projects do exist, but they're very few and very far between.

@allenholub It might not be rocket science, but it sure looks like a complex dynamic system sometimes within a bigger complex dynamic system with second and third order not always obvious consequences, but that would be obvious.

I often criticise Singapore. But there're a few things I like about it. One of them is Singlish. I love its mixture of English, Malay and Hokkien words, as well as our unique accent. Foreigners can't understand us when we yak away in Singlish🤭 Here's a little introduction to it:

Understanding lets you reduce cognitive debt and come up with new ideas, and this loop eventually fosters your taste. Don't avoid understanding what AI produces.

It was terrible in Singapore. Mask mandates in and outdoors and many younger Singaporeans happily obeyed. I have friends who even masked their kids at home when they got sick! Spent some time in SE Asia not long ago. The only masked people I saw were Singaporeans 🤦🏽‍♀️

I think Singapore has a great climate plus no natural disasters. It is not suffocatingly hot even in built-up areas. And yes, we get many storms, especially during monsoon season. Storms are so calming and warm rain is great fun!

I'm thankful to have grown up without airconditioning in an equatorial climate. I'm well-acclimated to it. Heat and humidity don't faze me. Many young Singaporeans whine when the temp goes above 26C. They constantly seek AC. No wonder they took jabs to go to malls and restaurants

When I volunteered at the Koala Hospital, I learned an important thing - never anthropomorphise wild animals. We see wildlife from our point of view, extrapolate what we think/feel onto their lives, try to help in our way. But without truly understanding them, we can hurt them
