@DebatingChris As a 30+ year resident of Airdrie, Rocky View Schools were bursting at the seams in 2023 and for at least 15 years prior. This is complete spin and BS! Although I’m happy for the complex student who has an EA and an OT! Certainly not the norm!

I've never seen anyone grill a Canadian politician quite as hard as Vassy Kapelos grilled AB Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides today. You have to see it for yourself. I'll leave the link below, it's pretty wild! #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli

@demetriosnAB No, you don't. If you wanted the same things, you would be at the bargaining table, and class size would be on the table.

@LGSentinel @EM_RESUS Growing up, every time I had a cough my mom put mustard plasters on me. Now, the smell of dried mustard gives me PTSD - haha.

@EM_RESUS She, even though pregnant, her kids and the rest of the family in the house all survived the 1918 flu that killed her husband the month before. She claims it was the mustard plasters on their chests.

Danielle Smith is continuing to lie about the possibility of IV acetaminophen replacing opioids in hospital. That’s simply not a thing. Acetaminophen has a maximum limit per 24 hours, if you go above that you need a new liver. How you take it doesn’t matter. /1

@PeterGuthrie99 I was disappointed by the results of the last election - 2 UCP MLAs for Airdrie. Health Care and Education are both a mess and the way professionals in both are vilified by the Smith govt. is appalling! Thank you for your integrity to stand up to the UCP corruption and spin.

Professionalism, Leadership, and Neglect Today marks the first day of job action as teachers across the province raise serious concerns about classroom conditions and the lack of supports for students. I stand in support of educators and families, and hope for a timely, fair resolution to this difficult situation. Unfortunately, this is more than a labour dispute, it reflects a profound failure of leadership by the United Conservative Party. From the outset, the UCP treated negotiations as a political battle rather than a good-faith process. Standard practice is to maintain confidentiality in order to preserve trust and foster compromise. Instead, the UCP broke that trust, rushing to the media with a distorted version of events designed to sway public opinion. At the same time, they launched a coordinated advertising campaign vilifying teachers. The timing and messaging make clear this was a pre-planned strategy, not an honest effort to find solutions. After provoking educators, the government tabled an offer they knew would be rejected—then used that rejection to justify further attacks. Meanwhile, they unveiled a cabinet-approved childcare subsidy plan costing an estimated $200 million per month, clearly timed to coincide with the strike and shift the narrative. Let’s be clear: it is the UCP, not teachers, using children as political pawns. Instead of investing in classrooms and improving outcomes, they spend public dollars on division and distraction. Their goal to “break the teachers” is about control, not resolution. That money could have been better spent where it matters most: reducing class sizes, hiring more educational assistants, and providing targeted student support. At its core, this isn’t about fixing education—it’s about waging war on Alberta’s teachers, students, and public education system, just as they’ve already done in healthcare. Albertans deserve leadership that prioritizes students over politics, and solutions over spin. The time to restore trust, professionalism, and real leadership is now.
