Your #SLMPD is investing in safety and getting criminals off the streets. District 5 detectives were investigating a February shooting and executed a search warrant. Detectives discovered two firearms and narcotics. A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody.

Please see our statement regarding the protest during the State of the City. When warnings to stop or leave City Hall were not followed, our officers and marshals took action to remove the individuals. Five people were arrested.

On May 6, 2026, the #SLMPD will host a Fast Track Testing Day Blitz — a hiring event to address the department’s critical need of officers. The day will consist of a fitness and aptitude tests with an oral interview -- a process that usually takes months. slmpd.org/fasttrack/

The suspect fled but was arrested a short distance away. The suspect, who is a convicted felon, was found in possession numerous suspected narcotics and a stolen handgun. #slmpd

District 6 officers responded to a shooting in the 5000 block of Goodfellow around 10:01PM. An adult man has been critically injured. #SLMPD

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with potential evidence or information to call them at 314-444-5371 or you can contact CrimeStoppers and remain anonymous.

Three others were shot and one is in critical unstable condition. Two others are in critical but stable condition. At this time, detectives are not actively searching for any suspects, but the investigation is in the early stages.

Homicide detectives have been requested for a shooting involving multiple victims. One adult male has died. PIO is responding. Media staging is Dr. MLK and Garrison Ave.
