@metatransformr is it fixable by prompt instructions? something like CLAUDE.md rules? I have some directives asking claude to reuse code. does Sol ignore this even if it is repeated or caps?

It doesn’t fully investigate the depth of the codebase and it will invent dumb stubs for systems that are already mature, forking a system needlessly and creating hidden errors. It will spend tons of time iterating with way too much confidence only to end up with a product that doesn’t meet spec.

I've been using GPT 5.6 SOL and Claude Fable for serious game development since they came out, and I have a verdict: Fable beats the crap out of Sol. It's not even close. My game involves several procedurally generated systems overlapping to form complex world building systems. I built my game with the help of Opus and then Fable. Fable was a huge upgrade, I started making serious progress. I have a 20X plan. Then I ran out of credits. So I bought a 20X Codex plan. Codex has been running at Xhigh all week, one time for 8 hours. I've built advanced frameworks for AI coding in Godot that Fable has been following flawlessly. I had a big migration this week (from seamless world to zone based world) - and although it was the kind of simple thing I could've entrusted to Fable, I ran out of credits, so I entrusted it to Sol. 8 Hours later, sol had been spinning its wheels and wasting time, completely disrespecting my agent rulesets, replacing extremely mature systems with immature stubs, and generally doing a miserable job at the refactor. The result was completely unusable. It took me two days of banging my head against the computer to get the game back into a usable state. This morning, my fable reset and I got it back within an hour. I would rate Sol at the same effectiveness as Sonnet for my game. I really don't understand the hype. The only benefit I see is a decently usable assistant with higher usage limits than fable, which just does a better job all around.

You don't usually hear "solo developer" and "open world MMORPG" in the same sentence. Yet here we are. 5,000+ wishlists on Steam. Coming to Loadout soon.

@RootHiveGames you can also try to setup a background pipeline of code normalization, bug searching, performance optimizations, so you won't have to spend time on it during weekend. you can run that in a background during workdays and review+test the batch of changes on Saturday.

@slopa_io I do a lot on weekends as well, sometimes it's not the best thing but what can you do when time is short. I agree, currently the design is much more important than coding skills 👍

Hey everyone! ⚔️ I'm building an MMORPG completely on my own, and today I wanted to share the Knight class in action. In this video, I'm showcasing some of the Knight’s skills while testing combat impact, animations, damage balance, and the overall feel of the class. My goal is to make the Knight feel heavy, powerful, and satisfying with every hit. Over the past few months, I've been building multiplayer, playable classes, bosses, quests, and many of the core systems behind the game. Our first community playtest is also getting closer! Would you choose the Knight as your main class? #MMORPG #indiedev #Godot #solodev #knight

Hey everyone! ⚔️🏹 I'm building an MMORPG completely on my own, and today I wanted to share a glimpse of the Archer class in action. In this video, I'm taking on one of the game's bosses using the Archer, testing ranged combat, skills, movement, damage balance, and the overall feel of the fight. Over the past few months, I've been building the world, implementing multiplayer, creating playable classes, bosses, quests, and many of the core systems that make an MMORPG feel alive. The biggest milestone is coming next... We're about to start our first community playtests through our Discord server. If you'd like to explore the world early, test the Archer and other classes, fight bosses, report bugs, and help shape the game with your feedback, I'd love to have you with us. If you'd like to be part of this journey, join the community below! Let's build this world together. One step at a time. #MMORPG #indiedev #gamedev #solodev #archer #bossfight
