@archer_rs It's called a heatwave. There was one last year, this one is just earlier in the year. Here is a map from 1947, during another heatwave.

English

@MayorFrey Why are we still pretending that George Floyd's death was some great tragedy? He was a career criminal who wasn't actually murdered, yet a guy rots in jail because blacks burned cities and demanded a cop pay the price. Fuck him and fuck you.
English

@Fuck_EM42069 @Fish_Flakes546 @ma1ybe Historically, the idiomatic meaning of the word "child" didn't specify born or unborn--hence the term "she's with child." Modern usage of the word has changed that. Either way, it doesn't detract from the moral worth of a HUMAN LIFE--and all humans have intrinsic value.
English

Hot take but we literally tried to warn you that this is what happens when abortion access isn’t accessible.
Zoya🕊️@Zoya_ki_batein
This newborn baby was found in a dumpster in Houston, Texas. "The child appeared to be fresh out of the womb, with his hair wet, his skin pruned and his umbilical cord still attached." Thankfully, he survived
English

Hot take but people who are pro-choice are not serious people and shouldn't be treated as such. This is absurd. A baby's life was saved after a monster dumped it in the trash rather than outside a fire station and this bitch is whining that mom wasn't able to kill it sooner.
💗@ma1ybe
Hot take but we literally tried to warn you that this is what happens when abortion access isn’t accessible.
English

@itzblackdoll @ma1ybe Yes, men can have opinions about women murdering children in the womb. Just because you can have children doesn't mean I need to respect your decision to murder them. That's fucking retarded.
English

@munumagic @ma1ybe You: "This poor child deserved better..."
Also you: "People warned that restricting abortion would lead to abandoned babies..."
Pick a fucking lane, you nutcase. Is "better" murdering it in the womb?
English

@Zoya_ki_batein @ma1ybe Democrats are terrible for mourning the fact that a baby's life was saved because they couldn't murder it in the womb.
English

@elioralux @ma1ybe Pro-life policy just saved that kid's life, you moron. That kid will grow up and LIVE. Go visit the kid in 15 years, when they're in high school, and explain to it that you're upset its mother didn't kill it in the womb.

@ma1ybe "We should kill the baby before it's born to prevent it from being killed after it's born"
Not a hot take, it's a retarded take
English

@Fish_Flakes546 @ma1ybe Think about what you morons are saying. "All of this can be avoided." What could be avoided? SAVING A CHILD'S LIFE? That kid will now LIVE. That kid will grow up and have a life. You're literally upset because they rescued a baby and mourning the mom's inability to kill it.
English

@ma1ybe All of this can be avoided if we allowed women to control their bodies and not be forced to have babies they don’t want
English

@ma1ybe Hot take, but this baby will now have the chance to grow older, live, and have children of its own. What the absolute fuck is wrong with you people?
People trying to kill babies outside the womb because they can't kill them in the womb isn't the own that you think it is, idiot.
English

@ifOnlyKantala They never had Homelander unleash his abilities, which absolutely should have been a part of the ending.
And for a Trump allegory, they couldn't even get that correct. When closest to death (multiple assassination attempts), Trump was defiant--not cowering or begging.
English

I honestly don’t understand why people are complaining about Homelander’s ending in the final season of The Boys.
Come on, it’s the finale. Butcher and the team had only one real chance, so obviously they were going to go all out.
And realistically, Butcher and Ryan are strong enough to challenge Homelander. I don’t see the issue there.
People also forget that Homelander was never some honorable or ethical man who would rather die than beg. Once he lost his power, he lost everything that made him feel superior. At that point, survival became his only goal, and he was willing to do anything for it.
Honestly, it’s pretty well written. People are just overanalyzing and making it more complicated than it is.
And let’s be real, it’s still a better finale than Game of Thrones and Stranger Things.

English

@Thorshared @retneysholocron The writers wanted to reset the status quo without showing their work. They needed the good guys to be underdogs, when they shouldn't have been. If they were going to copy a movie, ANH shouldn't have been it. The Phantom Menace, as dogshit as it was, understood the assignment.
English

@retneysholocron Its not just luke though. Everyone failed, everyone was useless. The Rebellion winning was pointless, because they where worse then the empire. Han failed, leia failed, luke failed. The Rebellion failed, the new Republic failed. And all without any justification at all.
English

By the time of Ben's fall, Luke was arrogant and hubristic. He believed his own legend. He thought he was so great that he could train Ben and the dark side wouldn't be a problem, because he was the legendary Luke Skywalker.
This is a major difference between old Luke and young Luke. So the default argument of "he tried to save Vader, he would never ignite his saber over Ben" really doesn't work, because the two events happened to very different Luke's. Over the 24 years between the two events, he changed as a person and came to believe that he was infallible. That's part of his failure.

English

@WillBanks479118 @retneysholocron Perfect response. That is the problem. It's not that the same character would be incapable of doing what he did, it's that the writers never showed their work. He ent from partying in ROTJ to trying to kill his nephew--with NOTHING in between.
English

@retneysholocron If only they explained in the movie what led him to changing to get him to that point. You can’t just say “it’s been twenty years” as an excuse when it goes completely against everything we know about the character from the original trilogy.
English

@retneysholocron The problem that you seem to ignore is that the audience needs to see Luke go from point A to point B. We don't see that progression, we go from ROTJ to Dirty Uncle Luke igniting his light saber over Ben the very next time we see him. Good writers show their work.
English

@bigbuffalodon @GrahamAllen @RealCandaceO @candaceoshow Also, mid-terms are always bad for the party in power, that isn't new. But let's be quite clear, Trump won the popular vote and the presidency. Republicans have the house and the senate. 2024 was terrible for Dems. 2026 turning for Dems is expected, but red redistricting wasn't.
English

@slow_17_motion @GrahamAllen @RealCandaceO @candaceoshow It’s a primary dick salad not the actual election where republicans been getting their clock cleaned by dems. My god I swear if you MAGA fucks have the intelligence of a toenail.
English

@bigbuffalodon @GrahamAllen @RealCandaceO @candaceoshow No shit it's a primary. It's a primary in a seat a Republican is almost guaranteed to win. Massie's seat is +18 Republican and has been red since the 60s, you blithering retard. Dems are a NON-FACTOR in the Massie primary, so it's strictly MAGA Republican vs establishment Repub.
English

@bigbuffalodon @GrahamAllen @RealCandaceO @candaceoshow It's sort of hilarious seeing people say this in the wake of the Republican primaries where Trump endorsed candidates are completely cleaning up.
English

You’re an insufferable little cocksucker I’m so glad that MAGA is once more falling apart because all you guys can do is grift and hurt people. I’ll be glad to see the movement collapse in its grave and you and those of your ilk will be relegated to the lowest depths of obscurity. Oh and fuck you.
English

@redsteeze Except there aren't many properties from back in 1965 worth revisiting, as the 1980s, in particular, had a particularly vibrant and exciting cartoon/toy culture.
English

Look I'm all here for this, but this would be like if Hollywood in the year 1985 made a movie about a toy that was popular in 1965.
Hollywood be promoting a Ball In Cup film right now if they think it would make them a profit.
That's the kind of time disparity we're talking about with Hollywood making a he-man movie in the year 2026.

A ‘MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE’ drone show takes over the Los Angeles night sky.
English

@PillRenegade @ChrisWozney @IMAO_ I enjoyed it when I was a teenager, but even then recognized it was just corny. Now? Now it's intolerably bad. Like the OG MacGyver, some shows are of their era and then they stop being relevant or interesting.
English

@slow_17_motion @ChrisWozney @IMAO_ I watched an episode just recently and still enjoy it to this day 👍
