Congratulations to Findlay and thanks to examiners Dan Neill and Martin Welch for a successful viva! Findlay has worked so hard and accomplished so much while blazing the trail as the first PhD student from the lab :)

Have a look at the first complete Trypanosoma in vitro cell atlas: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…. T. cruzi is a weird parasite, the genome a mess, transmitted by the "kissing bug" although it poohs on your eyelid and we are still missing good drugs. Maybe our work can make a difference

Our latest research on #LRRK2 has just been published in Nature Immunology with @SpringerNature where we show important negative data that this kinase important in #IBD is not expressed and not needed for Paneth cell lysozyme regulation. @mrcppu Read here: rdcu.be/dWnwq

@JoJofoth @jen_cottell Official style guide for many American journals dictates lower case g for the descriptor “gram-negative” or “gram-positive”. I have no personal opinion. I understand the origin, but usage can evolve over time. American copy editors will likely change to lower case.

Microbiology friends.. I’m in a debate as to whether the Gram stain result should be a capital G or lower case.. as in gram-negative vs Gram-negative. Do the Americans do it differently? Any strong feelings as I feel like up is now down!
