Book 28 of 2026 Treated myself to that free month of kindle unlimited so I could finish the series. Is it literature? No. Is the prose good or even polished? Also no. Is it hella entertaining? YES.

Book 27 of 2025 I sat in silence for a few minutes after finishing this one. I have so many questions. And the author has passed, so they’ll remain unanswered. Super impressed by the translation work, too. That shit is hard. (Also, I finished this last month but I’m behind!)

Book 26 of 2026 I’ve always been reluctant to read horror, but I love Indigenous stories, so curiosity won out! I’m so glad it did. Thankfully, my aphantasia makes me pretty immune to gory bits (unlike in movies!), so I just got to enjoy the psychological horror aspects!

Book 25 of 2026 Don't read this while you're at an amusement park with your kids. It's beautifully written, but it does suffer from an author having researched grief vs having grieved. And it changes from dystopian spec to pure SFF 2/3s in, so YMMV even if you like weird shit.
