Apparently forgetting that gradeschool is NOTHING like the real world, and that it's hard to learn how your neurodivergence works when you're constantly drowning in emotional turmoil.

@J_Drake @vanillatary They do. When I visited America ad a kid, a little boy my own age started kicking me repeatedly because I was English. I always wonder what kind of dumbassery he heard from his parents about a visit. I like many english people, have Irish descendents

Yanks unfamiliar with Ireland in the present day may not be aware of our very good working relationship with the UK in recent decades (Brexit stuff is notable for being a disruption to this) with most Irish people having British friends or family. Lloyd George is gone ma'am.

persons unfamiliar with Irish history may think that the animosity of the Irish for the British is just some sort of neighborly quirk like a rivalry between soccer teams. it's probably safe to say that any Irish person has family/relatives/ancestors murdered by British soldiers.
