Want to see something stupid? I was preparing my timber design notes and want to edit a picture using MS Paint. The automatic AI button keep popping up when I select an area, AND covered up the selected area! I cannot do a thing!🥲 How about a Paint program that actually works?

UCSD’s “Math 2” course teaches grade-school math (grades 1–8) to freshmen. From page 49 of the university’s own report: • 25% of students got 7 + 2 = ___ + 6 wrong • 61% of students, a large majority, couldn’t round 374,518 to the nearest hundred • 37% of students couldn't subtract fractions UCSD is ranked as the nation's 5th best public university. Universities are cooked.

Well, Kudos to UCSD, at least they are still offering classes to help them to catch up instead of just giving them a "B" and move on. We have students who cannot calculate area of triangle on the spot.

NEW: UC San Diego has released a new report documenting a “steep decline in the academic preparedness” of its freshmen. The number of entering students needing remedial math has exploded from 1/100 to 1/8. They’ve had to create a second remedial class covering elementary and middle school math skills in addition to the one covering gaps from high school. 🧵

@slpei Photos show wood pile foundations with added cross bracing above grade in the wave uprush zone. California beach houses instead use concrete piles to account for seismic - braced at the pile/slab connection.

Is this even compliant to code? You have a level with no lateral system (if by IBC) or bracing element (if by IRC). Who permitted those?

I’m starting to read the Bible and I’m using Erika Kirk’s app to read it in a year. I want to use an actual Bible, too. The only Bible I have is a KJV. Bible readers, what is an easier version to read, but one that still feels…..sacred, I guess? If that makes sense.
