Begging Northern Natives, especially those with huge platforms, to do some research & find community with Pueblos Originarios. I continually see events where “Mexicas” are invited & allowed into NN spaces. Stop letting them take up space where they erase & appropriate us!

I’m reminded of the shock I felt when I learnt how many English names for Native American tribes were actually ethnic slurs that their enemies who allied w/colonists called them, not even mangled endonyms

The way people are dismissing the labor of Black/Indigenous people especially farmworkers shows that they view animals higher than BIPOC.
My family has picked fruit and other produce for generations, there would be no kind of industry if it wasn’t for us propping said system up.

Indigenous ppl protect 75% of the world’s biodiversity yet only make up about 3% of the world’s population.
The deeper conversation that needs to be had is that Indigenous ppl will always be affected under the labor system in the global south. Whether that be for meat or plants.

If a vegan isn’t as militant about indigenous rights as they are about animal rights the I know it es never really about animals or the environment. You can’t “save the animals” without an environment and there is no environment to save without indigenous people.

Alot of reserves are in food scarce areas because maybe the government put them there historically to starve. Hunting and foraging are STILL used to sustain remote indigenous communities to this day.
