I think it’s likely because the team is bad but also the new millionaire tax. Washington state just passed a millionaire tax (March 2026) that takes effect January 1st 2028. Seattle residents could feel the tax more sharply because Washington has other local and state taxes layered on top of wages and equity compensation, which is why some analyses say Seattle’s effective top rate could exceed 18%. Add the federal tax rate on top of that. 👀
