This is so hilarious to me because the context of this was Nate Oats saying that having more length would have helped in rebounding vs Michigan, and ultimately may have been the difference in the game. Does anyone want to dispute that? Would having a 7 footer on the floor not be beneficial for that stat line? If the courts decision ended up favoring Bediako, then yes, that Michigan game COULD have gone differently. Does it matter at this point? No, and I’d rather it not even be brought up at this point. But Oats is not wrong. Once again, Alabama is targeted by the national media because they are such a force in college athletics, that any mention of their brand means guaranteed clicks. Guaranteed clicks means guaranteed ad revenue. Now more than ever, money dominates college sports and it’s never going away. Relevance breeds money, and money breeds relevance. Every negative article is nothing more than verification that Alabama athletics, as a national brand, will never die.
