@northernassist @alexhornbyrail As I said. Same excuse every week. The service isn’t improving. It’s getting worse. You’ve opened a new line when you didn’t have enough trains for the lines you had.

We understand this is frustrating. We are currently investing in our fleet which should help ease some of these issues. This is not a quick process, however we appreciate customers patience whilst this is ongoing. We are also doing what we can in the meantime to improve services. @alexhornbyrail @northernassist Another week another inadequate train. Where are these improvements you keep talking about? As far as I can see the service is actually getting worse. 17:57 Middlesbrough to Newcastle and you’ve sent a two carriage 156. The 17:40 was cancelled too

@smdowning @alexhornbyrail Hi Steve, I'm sorry for the issues on board. We are using all of the carriages we have available across the network at the moment. The 1740 is starting from Newcastle due to train crew unavailability.

@alexhornbyrail @northernassist @GC_Rail I'm telling you as a customer using your services regularly that 2 carriages are very often completely inadequate. You made the comment that most trains in the NE are 2 car - are you therefore distinguishing the NE from other areas you serve where most are longer than 2 car?

Hartlepool Station is a great example of us showing due respect to railway heritage (old and new) and investment in modern features with great accessibility features too.

@alexhornbyrail @northernassist @GC_Rail Hi Alex, why are your NE customers offered a poorer service than customers elsewhere on your network? I understand investment is needed and would be a good thing but why are other areas better served by the same organisation with longer trains and more frequent services?

@smdowning @northernassist @GC_Rail Hi Steve. The team’s response was correct. Most of our trains in the NE are 2 car, we’ll double up where we can and as often as we can (targeted accordingly) where resources allow. What we need is more investment in better and longer trains to help deliver better services for you

@alexhornbyrail @northernassist @GC_Rail Thanks - I regularly travel on very busy peak services on this route that are only 2 carriages - I’ve seen people prevented from travelling by staff due to overcrowding.
