Thanks Steve. :) I feel like I have a pretty good structural foundation of the theology. My dad is a minister and I don't think it's possible for a young kid to "grow up in the church" more than I did. :D But all the Catholic-specific practices, prayers, new books of the Bible, writings of the early Church fathers, and all the other little things are so overwhelming. 😅

Here's an interesting observation about Catholicism: Everything is extremely expensive. Protestants have it easy and can get good-quality Bibles delivered same-day from Amazon. But as I've started exploring the Catholic faith, it seems like every day I find more things I have to buy just to get started. 😅 First it was that all my freaking Bibles don't have all of the books... then I wanted a physical copy of the Catechism, and of course I need to get a Rosary so I can put that into practice... The nicest thing about Sola Scriptura is that it's really easy and cheap to get started. I feel like I need to get a second job just to keep learning. Getting interested in this Church is expensive. Anyone have any suggestions or tips on what I really need vs. what can wait for later?

@blister Let me check with my sister and report back. We are "cradle Catholics", but her husband went through RCIA. Plus, she is a significantly better student than me. Although, we have been through the same number of Sacraments, so maybe doing the homework is overrated.

And does anyone have any suggested books to read to start to learn some of the insider info? Like about the history/differences between the various Rites? Does any of that matter at this stage? This is all extremely overwhelming, and I'm paralyzed by all the choices.
