A #Santa's #present on #Christmas day... An accepted paper with my former PhD student @smllmn on the Journal of Statistical Theory and Practice (#Statistics #academia) This is the fourth paper with Luke and we still have 1 or 2 more that can be published out of his PhD.

Can anyone recommend a good mic? We have two of us recording in a small studio type space. Not a lot of echo or anything to worry about. Every time I listen to our audio I can’t help but think that we need to upgrade our mics first and foremost.

@TopCutPodcast @skyhawksings In my experience, 150 is a weird price point for microphones. Around 100 you have the AT2020, then there aren't really any huge increases in quality until you get to the 400 range for things like the SM7B. I'd probably go with the AT2020 and spend the rest on room treatment.

@skyhawksings Yeah we are currently each using a Neweer NW-800. Not exactly top of the line lol. Budget is probably around 150 per mic. Looking to really invest in some good ones that will carry us for a long time.
