As the first graduate in his family, he once cycled kilometres to school with a dream of serving society. Years later, that dream took shape through a simple but powerful idea. Instead of sealing abandoned borewells, his administration converted over 1,200 unused borewells into rainwater-harvesting recharge structures, allowing monsoon water to seep back into underground aquifers. The result was visible after just one monsoon. Groundwater levels reportedly rose by 5 to 10 feet in several areas, helping revive wells and support farming communities. Sometimes, saving water does not require new resources.
