Building a game that retains players is extremely hard Building a live service game (ie competitive multiplayer game w/ constant updates) like defenseoftheagents.com is even harder 🤣 But i'm proud of the work that i've done so far and have learned an insane amount. I've only been able to update and iterate this game so much because of my player base that keeps coming back day after day They're constantly suggesting new features, QoL changes, balance patches etc. Through this constant iteration i've learned what makes a game actually fun and engaging It is very trivial to build a game nowadays, but to build a GOOD one is not easy. And will keep getting harder IMO as the barrier of entry to game dev gets lower and lower I want to take a real stab at bringing this game mainstream, ie scaling to thousands+ of users. My existing player base inspires me and the fees from $DOTA allow me to keep pushing They say if you do what you love, you never have to work a day again in your life 😁

Fishing Frenzy was boring and not a good game. Pudgy Party was a copy pasta. Why is everyone "sad" to see it go? Ultimately we have to make games people want to play, stream, & share. That doesn't exist in crypto. Maybe beacon but it needs more content.

Every day more games die, others leave crypto (Origins was one of my last hopes), and the ones that survive have a brutal road ahead. So, what is Crypto Gaming? Honestly, at this point I have no idea. I have an opinion, and obviously it is biased. Biased by 5 years of dreams that kept disappearing, money we kept losing, teams that kept letting us down. So what is my last hope? I think the only space left for crypto gaming is: > Fully Onchain Gaming ( Kamigotchi, Citadel) > Degen Risk to Earn Gaming ( Onchain Héroes, Cambria, Gigaverse) The rest? We will see what they bring. Because we went from Web3 Gaming, to Web2.5 Gaming, to ending up on Steam or Epic just like everyone else. We started by launching tokens before games. Now we launch games with no token, no NFTs, no blockchain. Good luck to the ones who stay. You have my full support.

I'm happy for people to recreate, and learn from my demos. That's part of why I share them saying "somebody made this" and act like it magically appeared out of nowhere, or pretend they came up with the idea themselves is the problem Credit costs nothing, but it shows respect

This is why web3 gaming is dead right now. Web3 games should be games with web3 implemented, not web3 with gamified aspects in them. If we stop building slop with tokens and NFTs and start building actual games I truly believe you can be the next Pokémon of Crypto. Market conditions doesn't help I know, but we need to use this phase to build actual good products. This is how it was meant to be from the beginning.
