“A book, too, can be a star, “explosive material, capable of stirring up fresh life endlessly,” a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.” ― Madeleine L'Engle, Newbery Award Acceptance Speech: The Expanding Universe (August 1963) (Cr. NASA)

Israel may have won the narrative with Iran. But it lost total control over the new shape of the Middle East. On the surface, Israel scored a major victory. Its strikes damaged Iranian missile production, hit nuclear sites at Natanz and Fordow, and forced Iran to negotiate. Netanyahu has sold this outcome at home as the greatest strategic triumph in Israeli history. The reality is, Iran walked out with its institutions intact, a new leadership line in place, and its pragmatist faction newly empowered. The "war" gave Iran cover to shed an expensive proxy network while keeping its core power untouched. Israel, meanwhile, has moved from an independent regional actor to a more dependent player inside a Gulf-mediated order shaped by the US. Every major player needed the conflict for cover. Iran needed an exit from its proxies. The Gulf states needed to lock in their role as the region’s new center of gravity. America needed to reduce its Middle East footprint without losing face. And Netanyahu needed a big victory narrative to carry him out of office on his own terms before domestic troubles caught up. That pressure is now building at home. Far-right ministers, once key to the coalition, have become liabilities in the new framework. Elections must be held by October 2026. Markets are sending the signal that things are settling back to normal. Capital is seeing a managed transition. There's going to be a coalition fracture or early elections on the horizon. Either path will lead to a more centrist government aligned with the new Gulf-led reality. Netanyahu will step into legacy status while the far right is pushed aside. Israel's national interest will begin to accelerate on the erosion path, until nothing is left but it's raw colonial form. Palestine is emerging.

Democrats are so delusional thinking people regret not voting for Kamala Harris
best of kamala harris@archivekamala

.@CoryBooker: “You may disagree with her [Kamala Harris] on 10% of her views, but you let someone get in office who you disagree with on everything. You let somebody get in office who is locking up our children. You let somebody in office who is taking away our healthcare.”

People saying they’d vote third party if Gavin Newsom is the nominee just shows how deeply unserious the United States left is You don’t support third parties based on a whim or temper tantrum. Building new parties is essential for long term organizing and resistance against the corrupt capitalist system, not just something you do when the capitalists wont let you in the club

Genocidal war criminals Joe Biden and Kamala Harris set the table for every one of Trump's transgressions. They rigged their primary, crushed protests, ran horrible campaigns, and elected him. Enough of this bullshit liberal revisionism. Dems brought us here. Period.
