If true…this would be a terrible 2026 for Nintendo first party, imo🤐 Switch 2 is truly powerful. None of those games would impress me, or take advantage of the system in any real way.

@snackwar @nin10doland Again, I never said Mario was Donkey Kong. You should play Bananza because it's a better game and it's made by Nintendo. If you don't play Bananza you have no room to talk really.

I feel like over the last couple of years, this “only play Mario and Zelda” stigma only came up because people (like myself) really just want to see the next 3D Mario. 90% of Nintendo fans play tons of other franchises but we get looped into the “only like Mario and Zelda” group just because it’s approaching a decade since the last 3D Mario and we really want to see it. I am STOKED for a new star fox, Splatoon raiders, and rhythm heaven groove but yes, I’m going to be constantly curious and wanting to learn about one of Nintendos biggest IPs being 3D Mario. 9/10 years is a VERY long time for ANY new game so yes, it’s reasonable to be a little annoyed about it.

@snackwar I do think it’s disingenuous to discount Bowsers Fury cuz it’s not a standalone title, it was still great and deserving of praise. Also there’s a great 3D action adventure game also on switch that I could recommend giving a try, but that’s only if you wanna try more Nintendo 😉

@snackwar @nin10doland No, they were making Bananza. Look you can childishly say Nintendo should only make Zelda and Mario for some reason, or you can accept that they need a healthy portfolio full of varied IPs to bolster the Nintendo brand, and cater to all their fans and developers.
