Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested following a high-level intelligence-driven operation in Johannesburg after a businessman was abducted during an armed robbery at a butchery in Norwood. The armed robbery and kidnapping took place on Tuesday, 6 May 2026. The victim was later freed in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after which law enforcement agencies intensified efforts to track down those responsible. A joint operation involving SAPS Gauteng TRT, the SAPS DPC Tracking Team, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, CAP Specialised Operations and Tracker Connect led investigators to Soweto, where a Toyota Etios sedan linked to the crime was identified. Officers moved in and stopped the vehicle as part of a coordinated tactical operation. Three suspects jumped out and attempted to flee on foot, but were swiftly cornered and arrested by members on the ground. Police confirmed that the Toyota Etios was the same vehicle allegedly used during the kidnapping and armed robbery in Norwood. Further intelligence led teams to a residential property in Yeoville linked to one of the suspects. During the raid, officers recovered the kidnapped victim’s cellphone, an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, false registration plates and an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigators are also probing possible links between the arrested suspects and a separate business robbery that took place in Booysens on 6 May 2026. Police say further investigations are underway to determine whether the trio may be connected to additional kidnappings, armed robberies and organised criminal activities operating across Johannesburg.

What on Earth is going on? A catholic nun was attacked and kicked in #Jerusalem. Is nobody safe? “This is not an isolated incident, but part of a troubling pattern of rising hostility toward the Christian community and its symbols,” - Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The attacks on Christians in Jerusalem have gotten so bad that even mainstream Israeli media outlets like Ynet are covering them. The headline says: "The spitting and humiliation are daily. People are afraid to walk in Jerusalem with Christian symbols." The article includes quotes from several people living in the area: Hagop Gernazian (Armenian Quarter resident): — Describes the experience as "a spit in the face" and "pure humiliation". Says people think twice before wearing visible Christian symbols like a pendant, to avoid unpleasant situations. Notes it happened before this government too, but has intensified since it took office with no effort to stop it. Paniot Panioto (Greek Christian tour guide, born in the Old City): Says every year they feel less and less able to observe their traditions properly. Describes standing at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre entrance this year feeling "choked" by the humiliation. Closing appeal: "We Christians have been here 2,000 years. What's your problem with us?" Hanna Bendkowski (Rossing Center): Says the climate is one of Jewish supremacy and rejection of anyone who isn't Jewish. Notes she doesn't know a single Christian family that isn't discussing leaving. Warns that evangelical support for Israel in the U.S. is declining, especially among the young. Jewish supremacy is the order of the day in Israel. Anyone of another religion is humiliated and looked down on. Eventually this leads to violence and ethnic cleansing. Christians are thinking of leaving the city they have lived in for two millennia, which is at the center of their religion. Notice they thrived under Islamic rule for generations. Till now.

According to Reporters Without Borders, Israel accounted for almost half of the world's journalist deaths this year. It says Israel has now been the deadliest country for journalists for three consecutive years.

The body of the Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found by rescuers after several hours of digging in the rubble after an Israeli strike. She is the fourth journalist to have been killed by Israeli forces in seven weeks. This is why the word ‘journacide’ is now being used.

Without a change of direction in the assumption of political responsibility, and without respect for institutions and international agreements, humanity's destiny risks being tragically compromised. God does not want this. His holy Name must not be profaned by the desire for domination, arrogance, or discrimination. Above all, it must never be invoked to justify death-dealing choices and actions.

The outrage shouldn’t be about a destroyed statue of Jesus—abhorrent as that is. The real outrage is the targeting of civilians, the assault on human dignity, the devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. War is evil. We need Accountability.

Not true. You know it Sir!!!!! South Africa has constitutionally mandatory guardrails for the economy and social life that dictate transformative governance to ensure economic parity through restitutive measures as acknowledged by the Constitutional Court in Minister of Finance v Van Heerden. Such are also permissible under Article 1(1) of ICERD which clearly states special measures solely taken to advance disadvantaged groups do not constitute discrimination. Additionally, BEE rules equally apply to black owned companies such as Royal Bafokeng. Also worth noting is that Commerce restrictions for strategic national purposes is not unique to SA. The US forced TikTok and others to have local US ownership. You could say that’s discrimination on the ground of nationality in violation of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights but the truth is it’s more nuanced than that. So Mr Musk, please stop misleading people about your business interests in South Africa. Tell the truth #ConstitutionalGovernance #Justice #Transformation ⚖️🕊️
