For now my position is that the capture of the mainline protestant churches in the west by the left lead the an exodus, where dispensationalist captured most of the refugees, eventually causing the main organizational mechanism to political rather than religious. Hmm i dont know how accurate the position regarding Catholics is, will double check it. Regardless, at least it shows that Judeo-Christianity which we have today is fundamentally distinct from Classical Protestantism, which was the dominant form in America, etc. Whether or not Covenant Theology is more representative of the text is another question - Spencer has made some very interesting arguments that it is not so - but at the very least one point must be conceded from Greene and Co: - It is the political organizational mechanisms that brought disspensationalism to the forefront, not the inherent bent in Christianity itself. There is always a distinction between the 'truth of any text' and the interpretation and organizational mobilization thereof. Before the effects of the text to take root in culture and political to produce outcomes at scale, it must first be interpreted, and then consensus on the interpretation must be reached. This is even true in something as basic as the legal system. The law might state that truth determines conviction and that if you commit murder you are guilty and ought to go to prison. But given it is a group function, and humans are not omniscience or telepathic, the truth must be investigated, followed by a consensus on what the truth is, which precipitates the group function. Therefore the entire argument regarding Christianity being created for the sake of promoting Jewish interests becomes significantly weaker. Bcs even if you could say Catholics or Protestants are wrong, as long as they have power, functionally Christianity will not benefit Jews, overall. P.S. i am not stating here we need a mass conversion back to Christianity and that it is the only thing that could save us. Just a different view of what is usually missed in these debates.
