@sebify They already have my CPU and memory, now they want my GPU too? 🫣

Hmm jet brains rider barely work on my laptop how would this work?
Kirill Skrygan@kskrygan
Would you be interested if JetBrains releases a totally local AI agent, working 100% on your laptop, using our code insight engine and deeply integrated into the IDE? Yes, it will be probably 1 month behind the very recent frontier models, but no token blood bath anymore WDYT?

@GamewithDave Monkey Island on 286 with PC speaker and EGA graphics. The intro was eternally etched on my 10 year old retinas and ear drums. youtu.be/1IOL4q5tDDQ?is…

@sebify Yeah it's wild. We have our own modded package where we have fixed bunch issues like fonts being Addressables friendly and font materials not suffering from floating point precision issues (properties change in git by 1e-9 etc)

@SebAaltonen For tooling I've found it to be extremely useful. Also, for adding gameplay/engine features that are extension of what already exists there, it is surprisingly good for.
But would it replace us game programmers? Not in a near future, at least 😅
English

I have been testing a lot of AI app/gamedev tools lately, and frankly none of them has good enough quality to have any impact. They are focusing way too much on one-shotting to impress investors. But real game-dev is an iterative process. If your AI platform can't beat Roblox UGC games in quality, then your platform will fail. Who's going to spend time playing shit like that if there's better alternatives around? More is not better. Quality is what matters in competitive market. Better quality than Roblox games is the minimal bar. And it can't be 5% better. Nobody will notice that. Needs to be clearly better quality to lure people jump the ship.

@Cartidise @app_settings Not to argue one way or another, just leaving this here for context. Call app on my Oneplus 11 in Portrait and Landscape mode.

@sebify I remember watching it in my late teens and it was hilarious. I wanted to watch it again with wife few years ago and it sure was no funny anymore...
Watching it now would probably equal to watching a horror film 😵

@remixedcat @SebAaltonen Cmon it's useful when you're so drunk that you have hard time aiming for the handle :D

I hate unreliable UI. UI should not be cool, it should be realiable. Low latency is also important. If the response can't be immediate, then there should at least be an immediate sound cue. Laggy UI makes the user to repeat their action. That's super frustrating.

@SebAaltonen Company I worked for before 2000 had shared network drive for sharing the project source code and nightly tape backups for versioning. It was "safe" and "convenient".
I cried for CVS.
English

CVS was released in 1986. That's the version control we used to ship software and games in the 90s. In 2000s we used SVN. Git become popular around 2010.

@reo_od @SebAaltonen @m4xforlive Sure, there are a lot of people with these cameras. But calling them "incredibly popular" is stretching it quite a bit. The only time within a year when I've seen an actual camera is when a colleague brought his old mirrorless DLSR to work (which he doesn't use anymore).
English

@SebAaltonen @m4xforlive It’s true most people use their phones but there’s a lot of hobbyists with cameras of various shapes outside. Young people too. Not just pros.
English

Kids have never seen the device in the middle image.
Same problem with the phone image. Looks like a stylized C. What does it mean?

@FlowState89 @MattyMSS @cmuratori If you get 19 ms latency on your fiber optics connection, you might want to consider switching providers 😏 I was getting some 20ms+ latency on 4G wireless connection, and now it's 1 to 2 ms with fiber.

Jumbon Prismassa oli illalla paljon päivän susheja tarjolla. Ei punalappuja, viimeinen käyttöpäivä tänään. Kuulemma aamulla lanataan roskiin. Yleensä näitä on lähtenyt mukaan -60%, mutta nyt ihan 13 euroa yhdestä lohilajitelmasta ei pysty maksamaan #vastuullisuus Ping @HOKElanto

@thewillsykes @XorDev What addition you're referring to? That post correctly contains the dot product operator, but it's not expanded to show the component-wise multiplication and addition, so not a problem really.
But confusing L2 norm with dot product is pretty profound issue.
English

@XorDev so google missed the add and sqrt?.. It would be great if we could avoid the sqrt in such a way but indeed, its just wrong ;)

@sebify I could try to give instructions to how to better plan your day and have to do lists and whatnot, but I struggle with this. So I can only wish luck with it 😬

@sebify Reduce external, unnecessary stimulus as much as possible. For me, this has been giving up listening to podcasts etc while working, and even listening to music to some extent.
In order to focus the best, I just listen to brown noise with noice cancelation phones. 💩🎧 FTW 😬

As part of my ADHD diagnosis, finally after 4 years since I started this journey, I started to take elvanse. I am on my second week now, bumped the dose . I have already noticed some effect, but too early to say . I like the fact that you barely notice the changing in behavior, very gradual. Can anyone share their experience?
English

@sebify The tolerance is built regardless of the timing of the release. It doesn't matter if it's quick or long release.
English

@snlehton they are supposed to be released very slowly, but I suppose tolerance is built anyway?
English

@sebify One thing I realized was that the meds don't fix you, they just help you to get a grip of yourself - you still need to fix your habits. Think it as a blade sharpening stone. It helps you to sharpen your blade, but none of that really matters if you waste the blade hitting stones.
English

@sebify However, the daily effect does not last, as you start to build tolerance. But you really need to adjust to each change in the dosage. And with biggest dosage there will be stronger side effects. It becomes a balancing act.
