Well, I think it’s more accurate to say that my position is that the United States has done things to which people have responded with hate. Heck, there’s plenty of things the U.S. has done that I personally hate, but I don’t hate my country. I don’t think you hate yours either, which is why from my perspective it’s strange that you wouldn’t be at all bothered if someone torched Canada’s flag. People use their freedom of speech in ways that I find abhorrent all the time, and yet I’m grateful for the free speech protections that we have.
