@stammekann @PeterBrannen1 @stammekann I really love this visualization! I'm a graphics editor at National Geographic and we are looking for interesting science based content to pitch. Would love to hear how you made this! Shoot me a DM or email soren.walljasper@natgeo.com

@PeterBrannen1 Here's a rough physical visualization of Earth made by me according to the retrograde climate zones. Many interesting details appeared such as the freezing British Tundra Isles, the Great North American Dunes with the winding Mississippi flood plain and the lush Middle East.

This is so cool. If the earth spun the other way the Southeastern US would be a vast desert, the Sahara would disappear, the Middle East would be a humid swamp and Europe would freeze eos.org/articles/rever…

@RealRossThorn @pinakographos Hahaha yes! When building a website we got tired of lorem ipsum text so we started just copy and pasting the lyrics to the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald 😆😆

@dbmeyerson I think they forgot the apostrophe. “No pet’s shoes, shirt required” meaning that if a pet comes in they mustn’t be wearing shoes but are required to wear a top layer for warmth

In summertime Minneapolis, the days where someone bikes past my house towing a canoe behind them far outnumbers the days when no one does

Blender folks! Does anyone know a good way to do a distance mask for an oblique rendering?

Panther researcher Brian Kelly thinks that if enough open spaces & wildlife corridors are preserved, the panther's breeding range could reach N. Florida in a few decades. From there they could make it into neighboring states w/ plenty of good habitat. Map by @snwalljasper

@Sarah_Gibbens I feel this! I wonder if my overloaded chrome window with 67 tabs open gets sentimental too

Sometimes I get sentimental when I finish a story and close out the tabs and pages I was referencing, like "aw that was the pdf I looked at every day :("

I found a map I "made" in 2005. What do you think bugs me the most about it? Hint: I really don't care about ornamental compass roses or gratuitous scale bars.

Let’s be real @AlyD_VT ‘s Caribbean is the best part of this map, although I am partial to the contextual physical labels

@snwalljasper, @NatGeo cartographer, shared some helpful tips, such as, using Label Masks in @Adobe to make labels easier to read, in his presentation 'Contextual Labeling: Bringing Thematic Mapping to the Next Level' at #NACIS2020 today! Great presentation!
