Israel went in, targeted and shot Hamas operatives. Instead of bombing the hospital Israel targeted the terrorists only. Isn’t that what the world has been asking Israel to do? And still you complain @mehdirhasan ?

Israel eliminated three terrorists trying to hide in a hospital. I bet when this man’s ancestors accused Jews of the original medieval blood libels, they also felt similarly smug and morally superior, but at least their excuse was that they were illiterate.

It is important that #UNRWA is investigating Israel’s allegations against its staff.
In the mid 2000s, I was involved in an investigation into UNRWA when Israel alleged that it’s ambulances were being used to transport rockets.
We found no such evidence. The Israelis knew it was total rubbish and we told them so privately.
So why the rush to halt funding to the main UN agency providing humanitarian aid to Gazans’ in such an emergency?
Its timing is even more suspect a day after the ICJ decision.
Other Governments must now step up and fill the gap.
This is collective punishment. It’s grotesque.

UNRWA lifesaving assistance is about to end following countries decisions to cut their funding to the Agency. Our humanitarian operation, on which 2 million people depend as a lifeline in Gaza, is collapsing. I am shocked such decisions are taken based on alleged behavior of a few individuals and as the war continues, needs are deepening & famine looms.
