@mattforney Starvation and dehydration are not remotely on the menu. This is modestly helpful in suppressing their military supply lines. Keeping the strait open will require near constant air raids. I think it's doable, but not gonna be easy

The U.S. has blown all the bridges around Bandar Abbas, Iran's primary port. As OP mentions in his thread, Bandar Abbas is going to fall apart assuming the next target is the local power plant. Riots, dehydration, starvation are all on the menu.

Yes, bridges are valuable, that's why they build them. That said, the same basic human ingenuity that allowed millions of barrels of supply to re-route around the strait will also work around this, at least until the river is up. For now, it's quite trivial to stick a few drainage pipes in the ground, bulldoze up a berm, and then put gravel, or even pavement on top of it (for slow traffic only, obvi). If needed, you can cut civilian traffic and only allow trucks or military vehicles. There are a lot of 'levels' to supply destruction in war if your enemy is determined, as the Nazis showed in WWII. I'm 100% in favor of the war and blowing up as many bridges as we can, but we should be prepared for a lot more challenges before this thing is done.
