Boots and Superdrug have worked hard to communicate entry-priced ranges, price freezes and member prices via loyalty schemes over the past year and Sephora will need to provide value for money to secure its position in the UK health & beauty market.

The top three words used to describe Sephora were ‘high quality’, ‘modern’ and 'expensive' with 40-50% of Sephora-aware consumers choosing one of these three words versus just 17% that selected ‘reasonably priced’.

Sephora's first UK store (since it exited the market 18 years ago) opens in Westfield London opens today. Although the health & beauty specialists are well prepared for its arrival in the UK, Boots and Superdrug are the most at risk of losing shoppers.
