Sometimes, a dressing room trial is not enough. Sometimes, you have to buy a shirt, wear it in public, and see yourself looking rubbish in photos before you get that you shouldn’t have gotten that.

We did a #ShareeBondona video, so how could we not do a #LungiBondona one?! Please send your lungi videos to us at info@khiyo.com in landscape mode. We were practising for a Lungi Bondona video call out but had such a laugh that we decided to share the unedited practice video.

A warm cuddle against her mother's skin can be life-saving for a premature baby. 💙 'Kangaroo care', used here at a @UNICEF-supported hospital in Bangladesh, helps regulate breathing and body temperature and encourages bonding between parents and their newborn. #EveryChildAlive

I have been wondering since last year what it would take to get the British riled up against such madly hiked prices, and it turns out that we don’t get riled up. We suffer silently till we can’t anymore. 💔

@KaeKurd It happens a LOT, but that doesn’t make multiculturalism a myth. I’m in four multicultural bands (e.g. AfroCubanBengali jazz). We don’t just get on stage together; we live our lives together, as do our extended families and friends. We’re unusual, but not that unusual.

Multiculturalism in London is a myth. There’s every culture on earth here but generally everyone socialises with “their own”

@KevinSpence1 @drsmckay Here is the crux of it - the gulf between what artists want to explore and what audiences are looking for. It is a bigger picture issue of how the arts are perceived and funded right from school level onwards.

@drsmckay Unfortunately, too many community arts projects are driven by what the artists want to explore - and what will get Arts Council funding - rather than what the audience is looking for!

Just to clarify… I have zero interest in the facile idea that skin colour has any historical connection with human achievement. In an earlier tweet I identified 20 different ways in which non-white civilisations had contributed to human development. However, that was simply in response to the person below who claims to be a lecturer and appears to be a writer for the Telegraph. She asserted, as you can see, that, to the best of her knowledge, human development was the preserve of “white men”. I am embarrassed on her behalf on so many levels. However, I should point out that skin colour is not an attribute of merit nor meaning either historically or geographically. Skin colour is largely down to climate and nothing to do with ability nor intelligence as this person below seems to imply. That is partially why I created an album called “Beyond Skin” in 1999… To explode the racist myth that skin colour of any type was intrinsically an asset or liability. Thank you all for your kind words and support in challenging such overt bigotry from someone apparently entrusted with the education of young people. 🙏🏾

@thenitinsawhney Wracking my brain, but cannot think of many breakthroughs in the history of human thought that weren't achieved by a white man or a group of white men. So I'm not terribly concerned about this particular group being in the BBC studio.

British media describing the current weather: “Much of the UK was hotter than Monaco and the French Riviera where temperatures languished in the low 20s”. Languished? It’s not a beauty contest. We’re not going to win for being hotter.
