After thinking about it for a while, I've decided to talk about a personal topic that most people don't know about here. My family has known for a few months that I'm gay, and not everyone has taken it well. I had to leave my family and found housing with my best friend because things at home had gotten really bad. Some of my family members turned their backs on me and said I was a shame for the family. I'm not allowed to see my cousin's kids anymore because of this as example. There’s more I don’t wanna talk about tho. I'm trying to keep my cool, but it's not easy. Since I'm Korean, my family said it would be best if I dated a Korean woman. I've been submitting to my family for years. I was always told that being gay was a disease, so for a long time, even as a teenager, I thought I needed therapy because it was drummed into me so much. I'm not trying to bend anymore. I'm gay, and that's okay. I lost part of my family, and it took me a long time to process it. Today, I know that I don't need people like that in my life. I have my friends who always support me, accept me, and listen to me. They're like my family. Blood isn't always thicker than water. If you’re going through a similar situation, stay strong! Don’t give up on yourself, there is always a way. Thanks to my community for always supporting me even tho I cannot stream a lot due to my real life. Thank you so much!
