Ontario spending $20 Million a year to store US alcohol taxpayers already spent nearly $80 million on. Here's an idea: Grow the fuck up, put it back on the shelves, and let Ontarians decide if they want to buy it or not. cbc.ca/news/canada/on…

@solcryptodegen @gmforbes35 I’m not as well as many Canadians are doing. I am comfortable with not enriching a country that is trying to destroy us financially.

@gmforbes35 Nope, quite fine not taking shelf space for American products. The shelves are full, we have wine from many countries as well as alcohol. We can do without any US goods

47 percent of Toronto's population is foreign born. Not just second and third generation immigrants. Foreign born. Almost half the city wasn't born in this country. Toronto isn't a Canadian city anymore by any reasonable definition of the term. It's a tragedy and a disgrace.

As I fly out of another trip to Canada, this time Toronto, I just feel compelled to say how shocking it is that so many people have to recognize that Canada is likely already beyond repair on so many issues. They see the train running towards a cliff, and there are no brakes.

@CrockerBrock And worse still when you add the immigrant children. About 79.7% of Toronto residents were either foreign-born themselves or Canadian-born with at least one foreign-born parent in 2021. That number is surely higher 5 years later plus the 20% of third-generation fucks.

I was wandering around a medium sized Italian town yesterday. Thousands of people out between 7pm and midnight. Families with young kids and grandparents. Teens (male and female). Older people, a few with walking sticks and dogs. Almost all seemed to be locals. No shouting. No misbehaving. No drunken behaviour. No girls being hassled for wearing short skirts. No groups of men hurling sexual comments at said young girls. Nobody trying to scam us or pick our pockets. So I asked my friends why this was so different to some cities around Europe and the US. One of them pointed out that the population was completely homogeneous. No diversity of skin colour. No women having to cover their hair or their faces. Everyone speaking Italian. Maybe this town has its problems but they were not apparent on a Saturday night. Their problems have not been exacerbated by importing people who don’t fit in with the culture and way of life. Isn’t this what we want from our towns? I think it is. So why don’t our governments think so?

Copper is approaching record highs as rebounding Chinese demand collides with tightening global supply conditions. As prices recently breached the $14,000/t mark, electrification is becoming an increasingly important driver of demand. Data centers and other strategic uses are projected to reach 45% of total copper demand by 2040. ▪️The Supply Shock: Middle East disruptions have triggered a global sulfuric acid shortage — a key input for roughly 20% of copper production. With acid prices nearly doubling and inventories in China falling, production costs are being reset in real-time. ▪️The Strategic Shift: Electrification is now the fastest-growing end-use, shifting demand away from cyclical construction toward long-term energy security and power systems. ▪️The Sprott Outlook: Analysts highlight that these strategic segments are set to jump from 32% to 45% of total copper demand over the next 15 years, significantly outpacing traditional industrial growth.

Everyone keeps saying “go into the trades.” I get it — but here’s my real experience: Called a local company to fix an icemaker on a 2007 fridge that still runs great. Tech shows up. Takes a picture. Can’t fix it. Charges $99 just for showing up. Then quotes me $1,300 to replace the icemaker. So I do what everyone can do now: I ChatGPT the model number. In 2 seconds: • Exact replacement part • Direct phone number • Cost: $300 Installation? 2 screws. 10 minutes. I’ll do it myself. Same thing happened with my pool heater: Repair guy quoted $2,000. I bought the part directly and fixed it myself for under $200. The problem isn’t the trades. It’s that information asymmetry is gone — and some businesses haven’t realized it yet.

@MCulshaw84 @RealDonKeith I think it depends on the situation. If sex segregation matters, provide a third space. In situations where it is less important, let trans women use female spaces.

🚨It takes a lot of courage to say this on air in Britain. Michelle Dewberry calls it exactly right. “Why should I, as a female, be forced to get undressed in front of a male?” “It is always us women that have to suck it up. And a lot of us, by the way, are fed up with it.”

A few day traders become rich Very few become wealthy The truth is you’re not going to make tens of millions scalping NQ on the 1 minute timeframe You can’t even risk $10,000s per trade on positions with tiny stop losses like that At some point you max out your position size for scalping / day trading At that stage you need to learn how to swing trade and put your trading profits into a swing account THAT is where the real big money is made Not by taking positions with a 2 point stop loss

I've just got a panicked message from a dear friend who's been served an eviction notice by their landlord. He wants to sell. They have three children, always paid rent on time. They even offered to pay more rent as they love the property, + never had issues with the landlord, but he's not interested. He told them to go to their MP (she's Labour) This is a disaster. Are local authorities ready for what is coming as a result of this?

@CaptainCons Gotta provide a few more details. Specifically an arrival time. “If you wanna come” isn’t exactly a warm welcome. “You should all come,” or a “let me know if you can’t make it, but it would be awesome to all get together” might set a better tone. Have some conviction.

@Daywrotethis Or maybe the dad in the water isn’t present the other 51 weeks so is “making up for it” whereas the dads on their phone are present the other 51 weeks and are using that “vacation” for their own break.

Saw a dad at the beach actually in the water with his kids. Throwing them. Laughing. Getting sandy. Meanwhile four other dads sat on beach chairs with iced coffees staring at their phones while their kids built sandcastles alone.  In twenty years one of those men will have sons who call him. Three of them won't understand why they don't.
